"I have known Gordon for many years having first being introduced to his multi-skills training programme for juniors.

As a netball coach, I wanted to explore other areas of training to develop core skills and good form in our younger players.

What I loved about Gordon's session is the enthusiasm, energy and fun aspect. He is observant and quickly identifies where adjustment needs to be made.

Gordon is also very good at converting core skills into sport specific practices by constantly adding new ideas.

The programme I did was aimed at juniors, but the practices are good for all ages. I would absolutely endorse Gordon for multi-skills and related sessions as he is a superb coach!!"

FUNdamentals & Netball Project: Summer 2012 Gordon Fearn & Ursula Hammond

"Gordon and I worked on a 6 week project with Year 4 pupils at a local primary school, delivering the fundamentals of movement related to enhancing basic balls skills and movement when sending and receiving.

These were introductory sessions for the pupils enabling them and the teachers to have a better understanding of how to progress to play netball successfully in Year 5/6."

"Gordon’s extensive knowledge and expertise in the fundamentals of movement and how balance, agility and coordination affect the child’s ability to move effectively and produce good ball skills was evident.

He had a FUN approach to showing how these elements are linked and how effective pupils could be when the fundamentals of movement are improved. Gordon used a variety of strategies, teaching styles and equipment to engage the children and maintain their enthusiasm and work rate.

Gordon’s outgoing personality motivated the children to continue working to improve with different aspects added to challenge the more able pupils and to enable those that required more help and time to continue developing at an appropriate pace.

The collaborative work of developing good quality movement to enhance the use of effective ball skills when working in a team was evident over the 6 week project.

The children enjoyed the sessions, worked enthusiastically and improved in their knowledge and understanding as well as their performance of the physical skills."
